SHARP GF-999 was manufactured for 3 years and to confirm this I will say that this model was released in the last year of this model range, 1984. For a non-professional, having cast a cursory glance at this device, there are no special differences between the 777 and 999. At first glance, the distinctive feature of this device is the large arrow indicators and the dark blue grille specially selected to match the indicators. This is true, but a closer inspection will show that there are more significant differences oriented towards the local Japanese market. The entire lower part of the device is black, this is inspired by the ancient Japanese tradition of Sansui drawing, where a combination of black ink on white paper was used. There are also design differences associated, first of all, with the difference in the radio tuner. Instead of a rotary switch for the FM, SW and AM ranges as on the 777, there is simply a toggle switch FM – AM. The 777 has a frequency response graph instead of the Super Woofer inscription. The control knobs are shaped like cylinders. Blue and black stripes above the knobs clearly separate the control zones. There is a tape speed regulator on the first deck.
