TOSHIBA RT-SF5 Sugar Stereo Radio Cassette Boombox with Box
The Toshiba RT-SF5 is a mini boombox from 1984. What sets it apart from other minis is the nice metal top plate. It is painted gloss white around the controls, with red and chrome stripes. Very nice. The speakers on this model include 10cm woofers and 2cm piezo tweeters. According to the service manual, its output power is 2x3W @ 10% distortion. It sounds very nice for a mini, even though it only has a Tone knob instead of separate bass and treble. The tape deck has autoreverse, which allows you to switch sides on the fly, or you can let it do it automatically at the end of each side. There are RCA jacks for Line In and Line Out, and on top it has inputs for L+R microphones. The tuner has 2 shortwave bands and a fine tuning knob. The dimensions are 435mm long, 137mm high (with the handle down), and 85mm deep.
