NATIONAL RQ-568 Boombox with NATIONAL RP-3091 Reflector

There aren’t very many monophonic boomboxes with 3 speakers. The National RQ-568 is one of them. It has a big 18 cm woofer, a 6.5 cm tweeter under the cassette door, and a 3 cm tweeter in the upper right corner. The vertical column of 4 small holes on the right side of the woofer is where the condenser mic sits. It has adjustable Bass and Treble, and a Loudness switch. It also has Aux Input, Mic Mixing, and manual recording level adjustment. Overall dimensions are 427 x 280 x 145mm. It takes 8 D-cell batteries. According to the service manual, its output power is 4.5 watts according to the EIAJ/DC testing standard. The cassette deck’s frequency response is 60 to 12,500 Hz when using Chrome tape, and its wow and flutter is 0.12% WRMS.

The National RQ-568 was a mono boombox with 3 speakers. It was also called the HiFi-MAC.
