The HITACHI TRK-8800RM was one of the most advanced Hitachi boomboxes ever built. Suggested retail price was 84,800 Yen.
It was sold in 1980, and if you compare it to the other boomboxes available in 1980, it’s amazing.
It’s loaded with features. Like a soft-touch, 2-motor deck with very stable running (only 0.06% wow and flutter), with timer, auto-rewind, and digital song search.
And you could operate it remotely, using the optional external microphone (RB-80RM) connected to the input on the lower right corner.
This microphone has buttons that allow you to operate the tape deck remotely.
